We live in exciting, but dangerous and uncertain, times. Enormous economic, political and social change, exponential advancement in technology and the ability to change our world create unprecedented freedom of moral and consumer choice, along with intrusive regulation of our everyday lives. This unit explores frameworks to analyse and respond to contemporary and perennial questions concerning how we should live, individually and together with other people, in light of diverse understandings of moral and political values, the good life, justice and virtue.

 

Lectures/Tutorials

2.5 hours per week 

Prerequisites

Nil. This unit is intended to be accessible to students from all disciplines

Assessment

Internal mode: Tutorial participation and presentation, exercises, essays.
